Photo 1: ‘last name broken, first name shoes

Juno shared his ingenious composition skills, shooting experience and his special fondness in Leica cameras at Leica Store Hong Kong Causeway Bay on the evening of January 17. From now until April 16, Leica Camera Hong Kong welcomes the public to Leica Store Hong Kong Causeway Bay to learn about Juno’s artistic vision in photography.

The photograph exhibition’s subtitle as “ever since we stopped remembering.” has its own story to tell. With the numerous landmarks and areas in Hong Kong, Juno felt that people tend to forget the places they have been, or ignorant to the corners that were never noticed. The atmosphere of the places he has traveled to and the stories he has heard were all sources of inspiration for his photography. The variety of scenes Juno saw as he walked around brought him creative ideas, which encouraged him to press the shutter of his Leica camera.

Juno has been encouraged to showcase his unique worldview from the music videos and films he directs, thus he visited different corners in Hong Kong to capture the places that are easily forgotten by the public just for this exhibition.

Photo 2: ‘a kind of hope named false’

Step into Juno’s mini photography exhibition and enjoy 15 carefully selected photos from his photography series while listening to his stories, dreams and ideas. From the preface to the summary of in poem form, from the titles of the work such as “last name broken, first name shoes” and “a kind of hope named false”,Juno leads people through the urban spaces of Hong Kong, telling different stories through the lines of his texts.

Visit the Leica Store Hong Kong Causeway Bay rom now to April 16 to see with your own eyes, how film director, celebrity and artist Juno Mak uses photography in combination with his art of writing to create a fluid, heartfelt story that resembles his personal journey.
