Kate Spade announces Japanese Comedian Naomi Watanabe as its global ambassador for 2020

KATE Spade New York has announced Japanese comedian, actress and fashion designer Naomi Watanabe as its global ambassador for 2020, continuing the brand’s celebration of diverse women as the face of the fashion house.

The partnership will kick off for Spring 2020 with a digital handbag campaign, which will feature video assets along with still images. The seasonal campaign will highlight new styles in the brand’s Margaux handbag group, and captures of its pragmatic and witty designs, color and a unique celebratory approach to living – values which embody Kate Spade New York.

“At Kate Spade New York, 2020 is about celebrating how women express their own spirit and personal style through our brand,” said Nicola Glass, Kate Spade New York Creative Director. “To us, Naomi represents all women. Her humor and love of life perfectly align with our brand values, and she makes our product shine.  Together, we hope to continue inspiring multi-generational self-styled and self-motivated women to live their lives with substance, sophistication and a smile.”

The campaign launches on 27 January and will run on digital platforms worldwide.
