Fortnum & Mason celebrates collaboration with artist Zhang Enli
FOLLOWING an acclaimed artistic collaboration between Fortnum & Mason and the contemporary artist Zhang Enli in late 2019, two limited edition products will be available in Fortnum’s K11 MUSEA store from Monday 9 March onwards.
Last year, Fortnum & Mason displayed a series of 22 artworks by Zhang Eli in its flagship store in London’s Piccadilly Circus, 19 of which were specially commissioned for Fortnum’s. Zhang Enli, through his expressive use of shape and colour, is able to elevate the seemingly ordinary into something far beyond.
Taking inspiration from Enli’s increased travel to and across the UK over the past year, these works present themes of travel, mapping, immigration and relocation.
The Tea Garden artwork is inspired by maps and contours that refer to tea plantations in Hunan and outlying islands of Hong Kong, exclusively available as a print in limited quantity.
Created in collaboration with London-based designer Jane Carr, an exclusive scarf is also available in the Tea Garden print. Made by craftsmen in the historic mills of Como in Italy, each cashmere blend scarf is finished with hand-rolled or hand-frayed hems.
Enli also designed the caddy for Fortnum’s Musea Blend tea, created exclusively to be sold in Hong Kong.
Fortnum & Mason continues to demonstrate its long-standing commitment to the arts and has played a pivotal role in the careers of some of the most celebrated and ground-breaking artist over the centuries.
