Glass exclusively presents new imagery from Dior Pre-Fall 2020 collection
ENGAGING in an intricate flurry of modernity, identity and savoir-faire, Glass is pleased to present a new curation of imagery from Dior’s Pre-Fall 2020 collection, shot by Bibi Borthwick.
“How can the different demands of creation be reconciled, between tradition and innovation, between what stays the same and what changes? How can the foundations and the essence of the House be explored in depth and reinvented?”
Designed and visioned by Maria Grazia Chiuri, the collection pieces incorporate influences both French and Italian, inspired by the quintessential codes of Dior in accordance with the Creative Director’s heritage of couture.
Meticulous attention is given to the architecture of each creation, “constructed like buildings and molded to the curves of the female body” by employing the different materials, methods and techniques outlined by Christian Dior in Dior by Dior, 1956.
The Dior Bobby also features in the new imagery, unveiled during the launch of the Fall 2020 collection, in a homage to Christian Dior’s beloved dog, whose name is intertwined throughout the history of Dior. Discovered in the memoirs of the designer, he recounts “In each collection there was a suit that was expected to be a success was called Bobby.”
Comprising timeless modernity while bestowing a statement of elegance, the bag’s sophisticated curves and harmonious proportions combine for a resolutely couture edge, capturing the French fashion house’s contemporary essence.
