LUXURY carpet designer Tai Ping is making his mark on London from Hong Kong by opening a new showroom in London during the capital’s Design Festival. Located in South Kensington, with a glass front onto the street, passersby will be transported into the realm of the world’s leading custom carpet maker.
The entrance has been made to look like a gallery celebrating the new hand-tufted rug collection accompanied by a series of installations to enhance the beauty of these creations.
A new home collection will also be on display that has been launched to provide those with homes the opportunity to have luxury carpets without the cost or longer waiting time of owning a bespoke carpet. The collection will come with a variety of sizes and colours to choose from that highlight the traditional and modern British aesthetics.
London-based designer Sarah Izod has been asked to collaborate with Tai Ping to design the installation for this collection. This pairing continues the tradition of designer collaborations for the carpet maker who will see his new showroom be redesigned into a three-dimensional landscape of material.
