Eudon Choi unveils SS21 collaboration with ceramicists Liv & Dom

LIKE so many of us this year, a summer spent in lockdown meant that Eudon Choi missed out on a much-anticipated trip to the Amalfi Coast.

Fortunately for us, the South Korea-born designer brought some of that breezy Mediterranean attitude to London for SS21 with a limited-edition jewellery and home collection. Made in collaboration with Lewes-based ceramicists, Liv & Dom, Choi joined forces with the identical twin sisters to produce a series of delicate ceramic earrings, each crafted in the shape of shells and carefully glazed in vibrant colours.

Each piece hand-crafted and one of a kind, the partnership was unveiled as part of Eudon Choi’s SS21 collection, titled Fuga Estiva (Summer Escape). Marking the designer’s return to London Fashion Week after a two-season break, the intimate and socially-distanced presentation put forward the “ideal holiday wardrobe.”

With relaxed tailoring in terracotta and sand, wide-brim sun hats, leaf-printed dresses and crisp fabrics – think cool linens, soft cotton and silks – the collection conjured up lost memories of an idyllic warm-weather holiday.

“Carefree images of Jackie Kennedy holidaying in Ravello in 1962, and the playful fashion photography of Jean-Daniel Lorieux sparked the initial mood for the perfect summer escape,” said Choi in a press statement, whose collaboration with Liv & Dom will be available to purchase online from late Spring 2021. “This collaboration has helped to create new memories of a holiday that could have been, referencing the trips missed by so many in 2020.”
