Christie’s Hong Kong Online Jewellery and Watches Auctions Achieve record-setting results

The pandemic has caused many changes in the art world, the biggest being the enhanced importance of online auctions. Christie‘s Hong Kong has proven that while auctions are currently very different, they are still as successful with the jewellery and watches online sales in September achieving record-setting results.

The Christie’s Jewels Online auction featured a broad selection of iconic designs and the sale totalled HK$11,144,– highest online sale totals achieved for the category in Hong Kong. The sale had 89 buyers from 21 countries, with 37 per cent of the lots being sold at or above their high estimates.

The top lot of the sale was a 5 CTS D/IF Pear brilliant-cut diamond ring which achieved HK$1,625,000, which is now the most expensive jewellery lot sold online at Christie’s Hong Kong.
