LEMAIRE, the Parisian clothing brand known for its neutral colour palette and structural tailoring, has opened a pop-up shop in Tokyo’s Aoyama district.

The space, Lemaire’s second retail outlet after its flagship in Paris, is presented in collaboration with SKWAT collective, Twelvebooks bookshop, and architecture firm Daikei Mills. The shop floor is constructed from reclaimed beams from century-old, classic Japanese houses in Osaka. These vast pillars are structured using the traditional kigumi technique: joinery without glue, screws or nails.

The pop-up shop will house Lemaire’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection; providing a setting to explore “clothing that is a host, a space, a continuum”.
