Splash Foundation is partnering with Astra to donate 120 swimming lessons to domestic workers
THE Splash Foundation is partnering with Astra International to donate swimming lessons to 120 Indonesian domestic workers. Nearly 50% of domestic workers living in Hong Kong are Indonesian, and this partnership between the two organisations hopes to empower them by giving them a lifelong skill.
Swimming not only has major health benefits, but will hopefully give those who take the lessons an extra opportunity to learn more about their bodies.
Riza Deliansyah, the Chief of Corporate Affairs of Astra International states “Health is also one out of four of Astra’s public contribution pillars, besides education, entrepreneurship and environment. Hopefully, this partnership may benefit many other domestic workers.“
The Splash Foundation, founded in 2015, has already taught nearly 3,000 migrant domestic workers, refugees and under-privileged children in Hong Kong to swim.
