MWFM AW21: Brunello Cucinelli

Last updated:

ENTITLED The Synthesis of Yesterday and Tomorrow, Brunello Cucinelli leads the way of the unveiling the fall-winter 2021 collections. Inspired by the notion of creating something that stands the test of time, the Italian luxury fashion house has taken years of accumulated research to create simple clothes that are both steeped in emotion and yet contemporary in style.

Staying true to tradition while evolving with taste, soft silhouettes and refined detail make the FW21 collection.

Sticking to neutral colours as the foundation of the winter clothes, beiges, off-whites, browns and greys come together to create an urban look. Hues and tones of pale to navy blue are met with hints of sage and mint green, bonfire reds and hydrangea violets to fuse with the understated tones for that touch of Italian refinement.

Known for using some of the best materials and fabrics in their clothes, classic winter coats and down jackets are juxtaposed with lightweight staple clothes, from trousers to tops to ensure that the Brunello Cucinelli man has versatility in what he wears. Leathers and shearling is used not only for texture on sight, but one that is comfortable on the skin, while the outer-layer of coats are given extra padding out of soft yarns.

No fall-winter collection is complete without knitwear. For fall-winter 2021, classic weaving techniques are used to create modern sweaters through stockinette stitch and English ribbing further emphasised by chiné and vanisé techniques – leaving the pieces not just luxurious to touch but also steeped into the nature of each one of its creations.

In terms of footwear, the brand focused on sneakers, providing both casual looks that work for daily activities, sportier looks and more formal sneaker shapes that play with exquisite leathers while still remaining lightweight and wearable. Boots and more formal lace ups are also available for those who prefer a smarter day-t0-day look allowing for ease into evening events.

If you are looking for Italian luxury that sustains its position amongst the constant trends, look no further than the Brunello Cucinelli FW21 collection.
