SWISS luxury watchmaker Breitling has joined forces with Oriental Watch Company to open a new Breitling’s boutique on Queen’s Road Central in Hong Kong. Breitling’s have created a modern interpretation of a mid-twentieth-century industrial space, adding brass and metal design accents in the boutique’s décor and embracing innovative technology.
Utilising AR filters, when a customer visits the boutique, they have the ability to point their phone camera at the Curtiss Warhawk graffiti art which will activate a filter to appear upon the screen. The filer is purposely devised to celebrate Breitling’s rich aviation heritage, creating their first aviator chronograph in 1936, designed to be worn when soaring through the sky.
Drawn from urban design concepts with a retro quality, the interior will also feature an American walnut wooden floor, lavish leathers, vintage strap display cabinets and the signature Breitling logo illuminated onto a brick wall. Pieces presented include the ’57 Capsule Collection representing the sea, created for passionate surfers. The Navitimer Automatic 35 designed for the international woman and the new Premier Heritage Collection, which effortlessly encapsulates Breitling’s inventive spirit and commitment to design calibre.
Speaking of the new boutique, Breitling’s CEO Georges Kern declared, “Hong Kong has been an increasingly important market for our brand and the Breitling Boutique, with its prestigious location in Central, achieves our goal of putting ourselves as close as possible to our customer base.”
