Chloé teams up with Barbour for a new capsule collection
DEBUTING their partnership with British heritage brand Barbour, Chloé’s creative director Gabriela Hearst unveils a personal remark with a capsule edition to the Spring 2023 collection.
Initially founded in 1894 by John Barbour under the name of ‘J. Barbour & Sons, Tailors and Drapers’ to Hearst, Barbour jackets conceal a family memento. Reflecting on her childhood years on a farm in Uruguay, she reminisced about her father and stepfather, both of whom favoured wearing the iconic water-resistant jackets.

Designed by Chloé, the collection dives deep into the Barbour Archive showcasing references that go all the way back to 1910. Offering jackets, capes, and coats, it was crafted by the British brand featuring Barbour’s centenary trademark practice of re-waxing – a legendary invention that extends the coat’s longevity, perpetuating sustainable practices that align with Chloe’s values.
Durability is fused with the elegant nature of Chloe’s winged silhouettes unveiling how the release ties the two renowned brands for a perfect match, just take a look at the ruffles featured on the Dany coat or the Dustyn jacket. In addition to that, the collection includes a selection of accessories made from Barbour’s signature waxed cotton textiles, including Edith bag styles ranging from medium to large, a silk square scarf, and a bucket hat.
The capsule combines the perfect must-haves for elegantly sophisticated spring wear, complemented with a new shoe selection presented in new editions of Mallo and the Noua combat-style boots.
