Valentino unveils Unboxing Collection reinterpretation by stylists across stores globally
MASION Valentino’s Unboxing collection, designed by Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli for SS 2023, celebrates the “diversity and complexity within purity”. The concept of Unboxing is brought to life by nine talented stylists, who will interpret the collection in their unique visual vernaculars. Each stylist will unfurl their interpretation of the collection, highlighting the limitlessness of creative impulse and execution.

In New York Law Roach’s revealed a striking red box inspired by Mr. Valentino’s SS 1992 campaign, while in London, Rebecca Corbin-Murray‘s concept takes inspiration from the black runway look with yellow 3D flowers, inviting contrast between the essential silhouette and the vibrancy of blooming. In Paris, Clement Lomellini brings Unboxing to life with bright shades, selective cut-outs, and see-through fabrics, forcing an awareness of the body’s disparate yet continuous elements.

Milan by Lorenzo Posocco
Lorenzo Posocco in Milan captures the relationship between street scenes and the becalmed world of the store, incorporating everyday scenes into the display. Anna Dello Russo’s Dubai display manifests a sense of abundance with cool aquamarine and gold, inviting passers-by to dive into a world of feathers, fluff, gloves, and bags. In Shanghai, Mix Wei incorporates Chinese painting through scrolls printed with the Valentino Toile Iconographe, while Geum Nam Hwang creates a natural enclave in the streets of Tokyo with a Soma Cube puzzle.
Fashion is a language that speaks to everyone, and this collection does just that. It celebrates individuality and diversity while emphasising the importance of removing the inessential to reveal the essence.
